Good evening Chenango Valley families,
This message is to provide an update regarding the power outage that occurred this afternoon at the CV Middle School/High School (MS/HS) campus. As of 7:15 p.m., power has not yet been restored. NYSEG’s current estimated restoration time is 8:30 p.m., and we remain optimistic that power will return in time for a regular school day tomorrow.
Regardless of the situation overnight, we will send an update by 6:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, Wednesday, April 16, to confirm the status of the MS/HS campus. If power is not restored and we are unable to open the building, we will treat the closure like a traditional snow day, and MS/HS students and MS/HS 10-month staff will remain home.
Please note: Port Dickinson and Chenango Bridge Elementary will open as normal tomorrow, as both buildings currently have power and are unaffected by this outage.
In the event the MS/HS campus is closed tomorrow, April 16:
- Students attending East Learning Center, West Learning Center, and other full-day BOCES programs who are picked up directly from home will attend as usual.
- All half-day high school BOCES CTE students (AM and PM) will be self-transport only.
Again, all Chenango Valley families will receive a call by 6:00 a.m. tomorrow, April 16, with a final update. No matter the status of the MS/HS campus, Port Dickinson and Chenango Bridge Elementary will open for a regular school day.
