Dear Chenango Valley Families,

We are aware of a social media threat related to a neighboring high school, which has since been determined to be not credible. Working closely with law enforcement, we have not been made aware of any threats specific to Chenango Valley schools.

We will continue to follow our daily safety protocols, including controlled entry for all visitors and regular patrols by our School Resource Officers. We want to remind students and families that making or sharing threats, even as a joke, is a serious crime that can lead to legal consequences.

Please speak with your children about the importance of responsible social media use, and encourage them to report any concerns to a trusted adult or school staff.

To reiterate, there has not been a specific threat made to Chenango Valley and we will continue our daily safety and security practices as normal.
