Pre-K Program

Pre-K/Kindergarten Registration Information for the 2024-2025 School Year

For the 2024-25 school year, the pre-K times on a normal school day are as follows:
- A.M. Pre-K Classes: 8:40 a.m. - 11:20 a.m.
- Full-Day Pre-K Classes: 8:40 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.

School Closures/Delays
- If Chenango Valley schools are closed, all pre-K classes are canceled.
- If there is a one-hour delay in the morning, A.M. pre-K classes still attend on a one-hour delay schedule with dismissal at the normal A.M. time. Full-day pre-K classes will follow the one-hour delay schedule with dismissal at the normal full-day time.
- If there is a two-hour delay in the morning, there will be no A.M. pre-K classes. Full-day pre-K classes will follow the two-hour delay schedule with dismissal at the normal full-day time.
- If there is a three-hour delay in the morning, there will be no A.M. pre-K classes. Full-day pre-K classes will follow a three-hour delay schedule with dismissal at the normal full-day time.

During the 2024-25 school year, there are two pre-scheduled two-hour delay dates for professional development to take place:
- On these two-hour delay dates, there will not be A.M. pre-K classes. Full-day pre-K classes will follow the two-hour delay schedule with dismissal at the normal full-day time.
- October 25, 2024
- May 30, 2025
Pre-K half days are scheduled as follows for the 2024-25 school year:
- November 14, 2024
- November 15, 2024
- January 24, 2025
- February 7, 2025
- March 28, 2025

On these half days, please note the following:
- All pre-K classes will attend school on half days.
- Port Dickinson Elementary dismissal will be at 12:20 p.m. on half-days. This is one hour later than the normal A.M. pre-K class dismissal time (which is 11:20 a.m.).
- Half-Day Dismissal Pick-Up/Drop-Off Options for Pre-K Students:
  - No 11:20 a.m. bus option will be available on half days.
  - If a student is 3 years old, they must be picked up by a family member on half days.
  - Family Pick-Up Options:
    If you plan to pick up your child, please send in a note on the school-provided yellow notepads letting us know the time the student will be picked up and who will pick them up from the school.
    - A.M. Pre-K Pick-Up Options
      - 11:20 a.m.: Families can pick up their A.M. pre-K student at their normal 11:20 a.m. dismissal time on a half day.
      - 12:20 p.m.: Families can pick up their A.M. pre-K student at the 12:20 p.m. dismissal time on a half day.
    - Full-Day Pre-K Pick-Up Options
      - 12:20 p.m.: Families can pick up their full-day pre-K student at the 12:20 p.m. dismissal time on a half day.
  - School-Provided Transportation at 12:20 p.m. (Available for Students 4 Years of Age and Older): Students who are at least 4 years old can ride school buses home at the 12:20 p.m. half-day dismissal time. Pre-K students will ride a bus with K-5 students on half-days, so drop-off times may vary.

Pre-K Family Fun Days (2024-25 School Year)

Pre-K Family Fun helps to foster meaningful early childhood memories and encourage families to become involved in their children’s school activities. More information will be provided by your child's teacher.
