Important Information/Reminders:
  • I want to remind everyone to please help support our seniors by attending the post prom pasta dinner on Saturday evening.  Dinners will be handed out from 5-7 p.m. at St. Francis church. Eat in or take out -  tickets are $10 each.  Hope to see you there!

  • The CV High School Student Council is hosting the Spring Fling Dance on April 29 from 7-10 p.m. for all students in grades 9-12. The theme is “Neon Glow”. Tickets are $7 each and will be sold during the lunch periods from April 21-26.  Dress for the dance is ‘dress for your comfort.' Students can be semi-formal or come in jeans (what I’ll be wearing!).  Students that wish to bring an outside guest are reminded to please submit a guest form by April 26. Forms are located in the main office.

  • Welcome home to Madame Henyan and the French exchange students! It looked like a beautiful trip was had by all!  Thank you to Madame Henyan for organizing this wonderful opportunity for our students!

  • I want to thank Mrs. Schoonmaker and the CV High School Student Council and Ms. Edwards for organizing a wonderful event for the high school before we left for spring break. Students were able to choose to cheer on their peers in a volleyball tournament or go to the library space to play a variety of board games. I was able to circulate through each space and saw kids laughing, cheering, and enjoying themselves. It brought great joy to so many to see our kids come together for a relaxing afternoon!

  • I’ve recently been to some wonderful student events to see our kids in action! I was at the Jazz Concert before break, and continue to see our athletic teams working hard on the field! I can’t wait for the art show - always a favorite of mine!  If you have the opportunity, please come out and support our students doing what they love! It’s great to see their smiles and passion shining through!

  • I’ve also seen some wonderful instruction going on inside the classroom. I watched a chemistry class make ice cream in a ‘scientific way’ and watched as students shared their ideas with the class about a book they were reading in English. I’ve also heard presentations from students in classes and witnessed students showing off their critical thinking skills. These are skills that transcend specific content areas and will help them in whatever future they have!

I’m excited for the ‘final stretch’ of the school year - less than ten weeks to go! Spring is always an exciting time for our high school students. Let’s continue to keep our eye on a successful conclusion of the 2022-23 school year!

As always, I encourage you to reach out with whatever you may need. Remember - we are a team!

Kindly,
Jennifer Ostrander
