CV High School Update (1-26-2025)

Good afternoon CVHS Families,

I hope this email finds you and your family well. As we begin the second semester of the school year, I wanted to take a moment to share some important information and reflect on our journey through the 24-25 school year.

The start of a new semester is an excellent opportunity for students to reset, refocus, and set new academic goals. We encourage all students to:

  • Review their first-semester grades and identify areas for improvement: Is there a particular class that your child is struggling in? This is a good time to get to the root of the issue and work with the teacher to make a plan for improvement.
  • Meet with their school counselor to discuss academic progress: Our counselors are currently meeting with students on their caseload to review their transcript, goals, and schedule for next year.  If there is a specific concern you’d like discussed in these meetings, please contact your child’s school counselor. In addition, we are always open for a conference.  Feel free to reach out to me or the school counselor to set up a meeting.
  • Develop a plan for success in their current classes: Setting small goals is a great way to help students to be successful. Completing homework on time, being prepared for class, or using an agenda to track class work are examples of achievable goals for high school students.  Working on time management is something most teens can consistently work on as well!
Other important information:

Due to the shortened week, we are going to move report card hand out to Monday, February 3rd.  Report cards will be handed out and sent home with students next Monday.

Our 10th period bussing is on pause and will not be available beginning tomorrow.  We are hoping to get the bussing back soon and will keep you updated on this.

Yearbooks can be ordered by going to ybpay.lifetouch.com.  Enter ID Code:   12854525: The cost is $50.00 and senior families can purchase a Congratulatory Ad at the same site.

I hope everyone has a great week ahead! If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Thank you,

Jennifer Ostrander
