Hello High School Families and welcome to a new week!  Please see below for important high school information:

Positivity Project (P2) trait of the week: This week’s trait is humor.  How do you incorporate humor into your lives?  We have to find time to laugh each day!

9th: 92.7%, 10th: 92.4%, 11th: 91.6%, 12th: 92.04% OVERALL: 92.26%

A reminder that our goal is 94% daily attendance for the high school.  As we proceed to the final marking period, teachers will be finishing up the curriculum and reviewing concepts-let’s finish strong!

Important Information/Reminders:
  • We are working on ways to bring our high school together more often. Students and staff have mentioned that when we come together as a group, they feel a sense of community and a strong tie to the school. We will be having a school-wide activity this Friday in the afternoon that our student council is sponsoring. We are also hosting a wellness day on May 25. Students will be able to choose a ‘path’ to wellness and attend sessions - I’m looking forward to both activities!

  • I want to thank our custodial staff for the quick response to the plumbing issue earlier this week. They were able to mitigate the damage and fix the issue. Most bathrooms were only closed for a short period of time and we had bathrooms near the cafeteria and the middle school open for students to use while they were fixing the rest. A reminder that we have made a concerted effort to keep bathrooms open as much as possible. We only close a bathroom if it is a safety concern for students, and open them as soon as possible. If your child tries to go to a bathroom and it is locked, we ask that they report it to either their teacher or main office at their earliest convenience. It is unusual for a bathroom to be locked during the school day.

  • Please continue to remind your child that school is an academic setting, and we want to work to create a safe, academic environment that promotes learning. We will not tolerate yelling in the halls (especially during class), wandering/skipping classes, disrespect to adults/peers, or verbal or physical confrontations. Students and families are encouraged to report issues to an adult - teacher, school counselor, administrator, etc. Feel free to call or email if your child is experiencing issues - the more we know, the more we can help! When we’re aware of issues, we work to resolve the issue! Let’s continue to build the home/school connection and work as a team. It takes a village to ensure our students learn the skills needed to be productive adults! We have beautiful students at CV and want to continue to work to give them the environment they deserve!
I hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead! As always, please reach out with anything you may need!
