High School Update 9-6-2023

Good afternoon!

I can't believe we are hours away from the 2023-24 school year!  Just a few last minutes reminders for our students and families:
  1. Students will receive schedules in homeroom tomorrow.  Counselors, main office, and administration will be available to help students find what homeroom they should report to.  A reminder that PE and Warrior Study Hall schedule changes are not permitted. If your student notices that they are missing a core class, want to add an elective, or have an open period with no class scheduled to please see their counselor.
  2. Some families have experienced issues with School Tool and parent portal on their phones.  The URL name changed for School Tool, so try updating the app on your phone.  You may need to update the website address for the app as well.  That is: https://scric06.schooltool.com/ChenangoValley If you forgot your password, you can click on “forgot password”.
  3. If students are struggling with logging into their Chromebook, they can stop by the tech office during school hours.  After hours you can call the tech line at 607-766-3800 for assistance.
  4. If you don't have access to Parent portal, reach out to our guidance office.
  5. School photo info: Picture day is scheduled for: 9/12/2023 and 9/13/2023.  Visit https://vando.imagequix.com/S9SRC9J and enter the school Online Code CVHS23 to order online. (The preorder site closes 48 hours after the last picture day.) Post picture day ordering is available once the proof sheet is emailed to your school preferred email or sent to the school, these orders include an additional shipping fee and are mailed directly to your home address. Questions, please contact customer service at 1-855-773-3321 (M-F from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm).
  6.  As the construction concludes, some rooms are still being brought online for air conditioning.  If rooms become too warm, we have alternate spaces available for teachers to bring their classes that are air conditioned.  Hopefully this heat will subside in the next day or so!
  7. I’ve attached the high school’s “Respect” document: Click Here.  This will be displayed throughout our classrooms and school.  I will be reviewing it tomorrow and Friday during PE class as part of my Code of Conduct review.  I sent the document home in the summer mailing, but feel free to keep it on hand and post in your home!  We want our students to respect themselves and others and collectively we can make the high school a warm and welcoming place for all!
I can’t wait for tomorrow!  I still get excited for the 1st day of school (even after 22 years!). Reach out with anything you or your child may need!
