High School Update 10-29-2023

Good afternoon, High School Families,

Welcome to a new week!  This week’s P2 trait is “Knowing my words and actions affect others”.  A very important trait for all of us to practice daily!

As you know, Tuesday is Halloween!  The high school welcomes students and staff to dress up for Halloween, but we ask that costumes follow the district’s dress code. A reminder that we do NOT allow face coverings or weapons of any kind. In addition, costumes must not be brief or disrupt the educational process of school.  Students that do not adhere to the dress code will be asked to change for the day. I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween, but we also want to remind the students to come to school on Wednesday!

How can we make a positive difference when it comes to our children’s use of social media? Join us this Wednesday, November 1, at the Chenango Valley High School from 6:00-7:30 p.m. as the Chenango Valley Central School District hosts Clinical Psychologist Dr. Tanya Pellettiere for an informative presentation. Dr. Pellettiere will help participants understand the importance of social media limits, finding family balance, and addressing youth mental health challenges associated with social media and the internet.

I challenged the students to hit our attendance goal of 93% on Friday, since our attendance dips on Fridays. Well, they met that goal! Our attendance ended up at 93.06%!  I’m grateful that our students are realizing the importance of coming to school!

Please reach out with anything you may need and have a great week!
