High School Update 12-17-2023

Hello High School Families!

I just wanted to send an update to keep you updated on the high school. The attendance for the high school seems to be dipping, but I’m sure there are a variety of illnesses going around. A friendly reminder that consistency is key when it comes to attendance habits. I truly appreciate your help in ensuring our students are coming to school regularly!

A few additional updates:
  • Progress reports for 5 weeks will be delivered home with your child on Tuesday, 12/19. Reach out to your child’s teacher or school counselor with any questions.
  • The Chenango Valley High School Music Department had a wonderful winter concert last week. Congratulations to our directors, Andrew Liu and Kevin Hammill, and the students for a successful and joyous evening!
  •  If you'd like to purchase a high school yearbook online, use the website: www.ybpay.com and use the School code: 12854524. Order now to ensure your child receives a yearbook later in the school year!
  • Senior Families: If you would like to submit a baby photo for the yearbook, please use this link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1Kysa6Y-Z1U_8qzQ14Rf46s-lvmRhj7db7hDeXabqDZE/edit
  • We have a spirit week this week!  All CV students PreK-12 are encouraged to participate. The themes for each day are: Flannel Monday, Festive Tuesday, Wintry Wednesday, Pajama Thursday. Can’t wait to see all the outfits!
  • On Thursday, our student council will be hosting a movie and cocoa afternoon. Students will be able to enjoy a cup of cocoa while enjoying a movie. This was a reward from our holiday food drive - a great way to ease into winter break!
  • Speaking of break, a reminder that all students will be on break from December 22, 2023 - January 2, 2024. The high school office will be open during break. If you need anything, please call 607-762-6900.
  • January Regents exams will be from January 23-26, 2024. The administration of the Regents exams are not for all students. If your child is scheduled to take a Regents exam, you would have been notified by your child’s school counselor. Feel free to call our guidance office with any questions.
As always, I want to thank you for your partnership in your child’s education. We know that it ‘takes a village’ and I’m grateful for your continued support! I hope you have a joyous holiday season, and I will see you in 2024!

Thank you,
Jennifer Ostrander
High School Principal
