Proposed Capital Project

On September 30, the district held a public meeting to discuss the upcoming capital project referendum. This meeting gave our community members a chance to learn more about the anticipated renovation work and ask any questions regarding the referendum. The major focus of the project will be renovations at the Chenango Valley Middle/High School, which hasn’t had a major renovation in 20 years.

The proposed capital project referendum will be presented for public vote on December 13, 2021. The potential $19,574,000 project will address top-priority facility improvements. With the use of the district’s new 87.8% state aid ratio, this project will maintain the current tax levy to the community, meaning there will not be an increase to the local tax burden.

Financial Impact

Total Projected Cost: $19,574,000
Capital Reserves: $2,000,000
State Aid: $15,070,379
Scheduled Reduction in Local Share of Existing Debt: $2,503,621
________________________________
Net Change in Local Share: $0
