CV Athletes Compete in Special Olympics Spring Games

On May 6, Chenango Valley athletes joined around 200 participants from Broome and Tioga County to compete in the Special Olympics Spring Games held at the CV High School stadium. Ten local teams attended this fun-filled and exciting competition.

We couldn’t have asked for better weather as participants engaged in a range of athletic activities, including running, walking, softball, shot put, Turbo Jav, and long jump.

Congratulations to all participants, we are so proud of each of you! We would also like to acknowledge the CV Warriors who came in first place in their age category, as well as the overall winners:

  • Standing Long Jump (Men) – Troy P. (Age group 8-11 and overall champion)
  • 50 Meter (Men) – Kaden R. (Age group 8-11 and overall champion)
  • 100 Meter (Women) - Aryonna H. (Age group 8-11)
  • 100 Meter (Women) – Ava B. (Age group 12-15)
  • Softball (Women) - Aryonna H. (Age group 8-11)
  • Shotput (Men) – Rowan H. (Age group 8-11)

On May 8, students wore their Special Olympics T-shirts to school and displayed the medals they earned.
