Chenango Valley Summer Programs 2024
At Chenango Valley, our mission is to inspire, engage, and empower all students to achieve their full potential. This mission expands the ten-month school year. Therefore, with the help of the programs listed below, our district is proud to present FREE opportunities for our students to continue their educational growth throughout the summer.

**Please note that all grades reflected refer to grade levels students will be enrolled in for the 2024-2025 school year.**

Please Note: The INTRODUCTORY SPORTS CAMPS scheduled for July 22-25 will not take place this year due to low enrollment. We appreciate your understanding and hope to offer more opportunities like this in the future.


 
Chenango Valley Programs
Please register for each program using the links provided. For the Elementary Summer STEAM, you must complete the forms at both links, including the transportation and food services link, to fully register your student.

BOCES Summer STEAM Program:

(Students Entering Grades 1-6)
Session 1: July 8 - 18, 2024 (Monday - Thursday)
Session 2: July 22 - August 1, 2024 (Monday - Thursday)
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. (Updated from previous 12:30 p.m. end time.)
Location: Chenango Bridge Elementary School

  • Slots for each session will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. (Sessions 1 and 2 will offer identical learning opportunities.)
    • Note: Please be aware that the program end time for both sessions has been adjusted to 11:30 a.m. to align with staffing availability, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.
  • Transportation to Chenango Bridge Elementary and back home will be available for our Elementary Summer STEAM students.
  • Breakfast and lunch will be provided during our Elementary Summer STEAM programs.
  • We will continue to grow this program through community connections this year.
  • Students will reinforce and practice academic skills through hands-on, project-based learning.
  • The program will focus on and foster student learning in all areas of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art/Agriculture, and Mathematics).

(Students Entering Grades 7-12)
Dates: July 8 - August 15, 2024 (Monday - Thursday)
Session 1 (Intense): 6:30 - 8:00 a.m.
Session 2: 8:15 - 9:30 a.m.
Session 3: 9:45 - 11:00 a.m.
Location: Chenango Valley High School/Weight Room

  • Strength and conditioning for all CV Students entering grades 6-12!
  • Integrated UHS Athletic Trainer and UHS Human Performance Trainer!
  • Students will focus on strength, conditioning, flexibility, and agility training for all sports!
  • Students will also participate in “Theme Weeks” to focus on specific topics in athletic training.

UPDATE: Date and Location Changes for Sixth Grade Warrior Academy Session

June 25, 2024

We want to inform you of some important updates to the 2024 Warrior Academy summer program session that is open to all students entering sixth grade in the 2024-2025 school year. Please note that these changes are specific to the sixth grade session.

This program offers focused training in strength, conditioning, flexibility, and agility, providing a great opportunity to support athletic development and physical fitness across all levels of experience.

Date Change:
The sixth grade Warrior Academy session only will now run from July 8 to August 1, 2024, Mondays through Thursdays.

Location Change:
The sixth grade Warrior Academy session only will be held at Chenango Bridge Elementary School instead of the Chenango Valley High School Campus.

Session Time for Sixth Graders:
 9:45 AM - 11:00 AM

 To register, please select "Warrior Academy #3 6th Grade" from the registration options. (Please note that the system is updating the location, and it may temporarily still reflect the high school weight room as the location.)

(Students Entering Kindergarten)
Dates: August 21 and 22, 2024 (Wednesday and Thursday)
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Location: Port Dickinson Elementary School

  • Students will have a chance to get to know kindergarten at Port Dickinson Elementary better before attending school this fall.
  • Students will do activities in the classroom, go on a bus ride, and visit areas such as the gym, library, and art room.
  • An email will be sent to families of incoming kindergarten students with an invite.

BOCES Programs
(Students Entering Grades 7-10)
Dates: July 15 - 25, 2024 (Monday - Thursday)
Times: 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.
Location: One week at Broome-Tioga BOCES Campus and one week at SUNY Broome Campus

  • A two-week, hands-on program that engages students in project-based learning around STEAM: through the design cycle, local engineers and other professionals team up with students in small learning groups to explore and develop projects with real-world applications.
  • Groups entering grades 7 and 8, and grades 9 and 10, will switch between one week spent learning at the Broome-Tioga BOCES campus and the other at the SUNY Broome campus.
  • Transportation will be provided from Chenango Valley Middle/High School. Additional pick-up and drop-off information will be provided.
