Port Dickinson Family Update August 2024 (Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!)

August 2024

Good Morning Port Dickinson Families,

It is hard to believe that we will be kicking off the 2024-2025 school year in less than 20 days! Our staff have been working hard all summer to prepare for and provide our Little Warriors with the best possible educational experience at Port Dickinson this year. Please see the attached Family Letter and Transportation Information documents which have also been mailed to all Port Dickinson families in hard copy. These documents contain important information about the upcoming school year.

I would like to highlight two changes that can be found in the Transportation Information Document, as they will be new for those of you who had students at Port Dickinson last year:
- The earliest time students can be dropped off (both at Port Dickinson & Chenango Bridge) is 8:20 am. If you are in need of before or after school childcare, please reach out to the Boys and Girls Club which runs Fun Club in district. For information on registration and availability, visit www.bgcbinghamton.org/fun-clubs or call 607-203-1266.
- For temporary transportation changes (ie. A student needs to ride the bus to Grandparent's house instead of primary residence due to an evening sports practice) - Call the Main Office as soon as possible but no later than 3:00 PM on the school day before the change is needed. Same day emergency changes will be accepted until 10:30 am. After that time, a route change cannot be made. A designated individual must pick up the student either at school before dismissal or from their normal bus stop.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to implement systems and procedures that will improve the safety and efficiency of our transportation processes for all students!

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns at any time - we are happy to help and look forward to partnering with you to make this a successful school year!

Ms. Jessica Carl
