Message from Principal Hammond (6-20-2022)

Hello to the best families and students at Port Dickinson Elementary School!

I hope that you have had a wonderful weekend and enjoying the day outside today! The weather is perfect!

I would like to share a few reminders with everyone, as we finish the 2021-2022 school year:

*We have half days of school on Tuesday, 6/21/2022; Wednesday, 6/22/2022; and Thursday, 6/23/2022.  Dismissal is at 12:20 PM.

*For our AM Pre-K students in Mrs. Blewett's classroom ONLY, you have already received a separate communication from me about how dismissal will be for your children. They typically leave school (either a pick up by a family member or on a little school bus) at 11:25 AM. Please know that you can pick your child up from school at their normal AM dismissal time of 11:25 AM or they will be assigned to a bus to ride home with our regular dismissal at 12:20 PM. Please let Mrs. Blewett, the Attendance Office, or the Main Office know if you need help.

*Our second grade slide show will be taking place on Tuesday, 6/21/2022, beginning at 10:30 AM. If you are planning to attend, you will need to bring a photo ID and enter our school through the Security Vestibule. You are able to sign your second grader out of school to go home with you if you wish. More directions on this process will be provided to families at the slide show on Tuesday, 6/21/2022.

*Our Kindergarten Graduation ceremony will be taking place on Wednesday, 6/22/2022, beginning at 10:45 AM. If you are planning to attend, you will need to bring a photo ID and enter our school through the Security Vestibule. You will be able to sign your kindergarten student out of school to go home with you, if you wish. More directions on this process will be provided to families at the graduation ceremony on Wednesday, 6/22/2022.

*For ANY students attending PD, who have siblings in other grades here and you are planning to take them home from school after the events mentioned above, we kindly ask that you send in a "yellow note" or note written on paper from you with your requests. By having this information ahead of time, we can have your kids ready to be picked and keep our process as smooth and efficient as possible.

We have had a fantastic school year, filled with many wonderful activities, events, and so much learning!

We truly appreciate the partnership and communication between home and school!

We love our PD "Little Warriors"! We wish our 2nd graders all the best as they move to grade 3 at Chenango Bridge. We have done so much to prepare them for the next educational steps and know that you will continue to support them.

As always, please reach out to us in the Main Office if you have questions.

Have a terrific week ahead and ENJOY every single minute of the SUMMER season ahead!

Thank you very much!
Mrs. Hammond
