Our Fall 2024 Elementary Family/Teacher Conference Half Days Survey closed last Friday, and the results are listed below. As a reminder, staff and families were provided the same survey to gather feedback.
Staff Results:
Preferences of respondents for the two Elementary Family/Teacher Conference Half Days for the 2024-2025 school year (based on 60 responses):
- Thursday, November 14, 2024 & Friday, November 15, 2024: 61.7%
- Friday, November 15, 2024 & Friday, November 22, 2024: 26.7%
- I don't have strong feelings either way: 11.7%
Family Results:
Preferences of respondents for the two Elementary Family/Teacher Conference Half Days for the 2024-2025 school year (based on 168 responses):
- Thursday, November 14, 2024 & Friday, November 15, 2024: 46.4%
- Friday, November 15, 2024 & Friday, November 22, 2024: 31%
- I don't have strong feelings either way: 22.6%
Given the strong staff preference for November 14 and 15, along with the mixed family results, we will plan to schedule our two Elementary Family/Teacher Conference Half Days for Thursday, November 14, and Friday, November 15, in fall 2024. (Please Note: These will be half days for Port Dickinson and Chenango Bridge Elementary students only. CV Middle and High School students will follow their regular schedule on these dates.)
By holding the conferences on two consecutive days, our teachers will be able to have them back-to-back, and then go into the following week with any necessary classroom-wide adjustments in place.
We will also follow up with a survey after the conferences in the fall to see if the back-to-back dates worked out well.
