Construct a sundial using a paper plate, pencil, and small ball of modeling clay or anything else you have permission to use to construct an accurate sundial. Investigate and record how the sundial is able to cast a shadow to help determine the time of day by the length of shadow produced by the sundial.

Read or listen to story and think of ways we can improve the Earth around us. You can try to make an improvement or just go outside and notice all the wonderful things the Earth provides us.  Afterwards, write about the thoughts, actions, and improvements you have to make our Earth even better.

*If sharing a response to our fun science lab activities, please be sure to include each of the following:
  • Your name (first and last)
  • Your teacher’s name and what grade you are in
