Using Chromebooks (Grades 3-12)
Students will have access to all of the tools they need by logging into their Chromebooks. If any student has trouble logging into their Chromebook, they can call our help desk directly at (607) 766-3800 and ask for their password to be reset.

Accessibility Features through Mobile Devices

Apple and Android mobile devices also have the ability to read the screen. Please note that when you turn this feature on, it changes the regular navigation of the device.  For example, once this is on, you'll use a single tap to read and a double tap to change the app or other device functions.
  • Apple Mobile Devices: To turn on screen reading, go to "Settings" > "Accessibility" > turn on "VoiceOver".
  • Android Mobile Devices: To turn on screen reading, go to "Settings" > "Accessibility" >"Screen Reader" > turn on "Voice Assistant" > click "Allow".
Using Seesaw (Pre-K - Grade 2)
All of our K-2 classroom teachers will be using the Seesaw app for sharing activities and lessons with their classes.
 
To access Seesaw:
  • From a mobile devices (phones, iPads, and tablets) you can download the Seesaw Class app from the appropriate app store. Any school iPads should already have the app pushed out to the device. 
  • From a Chromebook, laptop or desktop, go to: https://app.seesaw.me (Choose 'I'm a Student') 
 
Using Zoom
Our teachers are using the Zoom video conferencing platform for face-to-face meetings with their students. You do not need an account with Zoom to participate. You will receive a meeting link from your teacher to join.
 
To access Zoom:
  • From a mobile devices (phones, iPads, and tablets) you should download the Zoom app from the appropriate app store. Any school iPads should already have the app pushed out to the device. You should get a meeting ID along with the invite and you can type that directly into the app as well.  If a password is required, that will be included in the information from the teacher.
  • From a Chromebook, laptop or desktop, you can click on, or type in, the link.  Zoom will prompt to run an extension or an add-on, you should only have to do that once on a device and then Zoom should be there. After that, clicking a link should open zoom.

Using Google Classroom

How to use "My Apps" Portal

The easiest way for students in grades 3-12 to access apps like Google, email, and Schoology is to login to the "My Apps" portal.  Most students in grades 3-12 have done this on their devices but if it isn't working, follow these steps:
  1. Go to the "My Apps" Portal
  2. Log in using full email address: [email protected] and password
  3. Once in, it will show all of the apps you have access to. There will also be a blue circle in the Google Chrome browser that will make things easier to get to those apps.

  4. For email, choose Chenango Valley Office 365 Mail
