CV Last Days of Student Attendance 2024

April 23, 2024

Dear Chenango Valley Families,

I hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday! At last night's Board of Education meeting, we announced the final student attendance days for the 2023-2024 school year.

As you may know, New York State requires schools to have 180 days of student attendance, with some flexibility for Superintendent’s Conference Days and Regents Exam days. Additionally, there are minimum instructional hour requirements.

Days commonly known as “snow days,” when schools are closed due to inclement weather, do not count towards student attendance days. Due to the limited number of snow days this year, we can dismiss PreK-8 students for the summer break earlier than usual.

Therefore, the last day for Chenango Valley PreK-8 students will be a full school day on Tuesday, June 18. However, if there are any unexpected closures between now and then, this date may be adjusted accordingly.

For CV High School students, the last regular school day is set for Thursday, June 13, followed by the full Regents Week schedule starting on Friday, June 14. You can find the Regents schedule on the high school’s page on our district website.

Thank you for your attention to these important updates. We look forward to continuing to support our students' successes throughout the remaining weeks of the school year.

Sincerely,
Dr. Larry Dake
Superintendent of Schools
