Investigation

11-16-22: In May, the Chenango Valley Board of Education voted unanimously to hire Vaughan Baio & Partners to conduct an impartial investigation into specific allegations involving students and concerns of broader cultural issues at our high school. The investigation channels were open for anyone who wanted to come forward to be interviewed anonymously. A report of the investigation’s findings can be found here. Portions of the report have been redacted for various reasons, including, but not limited to, protecting identities of students and student records.

Previous Updates:

CV Families: As you know, the Board of Education and the Administration try to be responsive to your emails and calls. CV has retained an outside law firm, Vaughan Baio, to conduct an impartial investigation into specific allegations as well as broader cultural concerns that have been raised. With an ongoing investigation, the Board and Administration will not be responding directly to you on matters related to this open investigation. Please recognize that we are not ignoring you. We care about our students, employees, and our CV families. There is a dedicated email, phone number, and an anonymous reporting system set up for this exact purpose.

If you do email the Board or Administration about the ongoing investigation, it will be forwarded for review and potential action by the outside law firm during the investigation. If you are contacted by someone from the outside law firm, we ask you to work with them.

If you have information about the ongoing investigation, we strongly encourage you to reach out to the investigators at Vaughan Baio via email at: [email protected] or by phone at (267) 386-4387 so they can be investigated or, if you prefer, you can report them anonymously via Sprigeo.
