Dear CV community,

Happy fall! We had a smooth opening to our school year and have reached the halfway mark of the first semester already! Thank you to all of our families who were able to participate in the open houses this fall. School-home connections are so important for the success of our children. See more.

graphic of an i d showing what visitors will need to enter school district buildings
As part of our security upgrades in the Chenango Valley Central School District, we have purchased new visitor management systems. These systems allow us to scan an ID and print a photo badge for visitors coming to each of our district school buildings. Beginning the first day of classes, it will become a requirement for all visitors to show photo identification in order to enter each building.

Although the new system and security vestibules will require some adjustments to some of our practices and procedures, we feel it is a critical step to increase the security of our buildings. We ask that you are patient with us as we work to implement the new system and encourage you to share questions, concerns, and ideas with your building principals.

We look forward to working with you all throughout the year and appreciate your help in ensuring the safety of our students!

CVCSD Superintendent Response to Natural Gas Compressor Station Ruling:
On August 28, 2017, the Court ruled in favor of the Chenango Valley Central School District, granting its Article 78 Petition and vacating the Planning Board’s April 11 and May 23, 2017 determinations regarding the NG Advantage LLC application for the compressed natural gas facility in the Town of Fenton. As asserted in our pleadings and affirmed by the Court, the Planning Board failed to appropriately and adequately review the impacts of the proposed project, including the impacts to traffic at the Route 12A interchange in front of the CV Middle School and High School.

We look forward to participating in future consideration of the project on a resubmitted application, where we will make every effort to ensure a careful review of the impacts to the students, families, and staff of Chenango Valley Central School District.

Chenango Valley Central School District has been listed as
a five-star district for our academic ranking in social studies.
Keep up the awesome work, Warriors!
