Chenango Valley Central School District had the opportunity to host a virtual webinar presented by Dr. Tanya Pellettiere titled “Strategies to Help Support the Social-Emotional Needs of Students Learning Remotely” on February 22.

This informative webinar focused on supporting the social-emotional needs of children learning remotely during the pandemic, whether learning fully remotely or temporarily (due to quarantine, etc.). Dr. Pellettiere discussed ways to lessen potential short and long-term social development impacts.

Dr. Pellettiere shared the importance of prioritizing connection, getting outside, not over worrying about screen time, and acknowledging the hard parts of our current circumstances but also being proactive. She also shared some mindfulness activities that can be helpful including belly breathing, blowing bubbles, coloring, listening to music, and gratefulness journals.

In addition, Dr. Pellettiere answered questions from participants.
