A dozen CV High School Class of 2022 seniors earned the New York State Seal of Civic Readiness! Upon their graduation, they will receive this seal on their diplomas. We are so proud of these students for all that they have accomplished for this newly-implemented initiative!
The Civic Readiness initiative focuses on the pillars of Civic Knowledge, Civic Skills & Actions, Civic Mindsets, and Civic Experiences. According to the NYSED
Seal of Civic Readiness webpage, earning this seal:
- shows the student’s understanding of a commitment to participatory government; civic responsibility and civic values;
- demonstrates to universities, colleges, and future employers that the student has completed an action project in civics or social justice; and
- recognizes the value of civic engagement and scholarship.
Students needed to complete certain criteria in order to show their civic knowledge and civic participation. Their achievement is a testament not only to their hard work, but also to their dedication to their community and commitment to making informed decisions for the public good.
Congratulations, Warriors!
Seal of Civic Readiness students were recognized as part of the June 22 board meeting.
