Chenango Valley High School senior and standout swimmer Gabriel (Gabe) Tallant celebrated signing his National Letter of Intent on April 4. Gabe was joined by family, friends, teammates, and school staff as he officially committed to the Canisius College Men’s Swimming and Diving Team.
Gabe began swimming competitively in middle school and improved his 100 Freestyle time from 1:15 to a personal best of 49.63 seconds by his senior year. He has earned honors such as All-Division and All-Conference All-Star, and holds a pool record in the 200 Medley Relay alongside former CV swimmers Schultz, Sadykov, and Dolaway.
“He is a hard worker and dedicated swimmer who strives to get better every day in practice,” said Coach Frayer.
Reflecting on this milestone, Gabe shared, “I want to thank my friends and family for all of the support that I've received throughout the years.” He also expressed gratitude to his coaches for their encouragement and belief in his abilities.
Outside the pool, Gabe plans to study biology at Canisius. CV is proud of all he has accomplished and wish him continued success at the collegiate level!
