Port Dickinson School Building 100 Years
The Chenango Valley Central School District invites you to join us in celebrating a school building that has remained a staple in our community for the past century. While the Chenango Valley Central School District was established in 1950, students and staff have utilized the learning space that is currently home to Port Dickinson Elementary since 1921. Although the COVID-19 pandemic changed our original celebration plans, we wanted to make sure to still honor this exciting milestone. Throughout the first week of June (June 1-4), Chenango Valley invites you to join us in celebrating with the following events/presentations:

Tuesday, June 1: 
Video from Local Leaders and Dignitaries Celebrating the Port Dickinson School Building
Local leaders helped to celebrate the Port Dickinson school building as well as the Chenango Valley Central School District by sharing video messages.

Thursday, June 3: 
Tour the Renovated Port Dickinson School Building... and Get a Blast from the Past!
Following protocols including wearing a face mask and social distancing, community members were able to experience a guided tour of portions of the recently renovated Port Dickinson Elementary building. The tours included Chenango Valley Central School District artifacts, some items from the Chenango Schoolhouse Museum, as well as current student work will be on display.

In case you were not able to attend the tour, here is the Facebook Live video that helps to show what the tour looked like. Thank you to Dr. Gill and Mrs. Hammond for their help! We unfortunately lost connection at the end of the video, but some more footage of the front of the building can be seen in the second video below.
Friday, June 4: 
CV Theatre Guild’s Production of Disney’s High School Musical Debuts Via Streaming Platform
As a fun end to this celebration, we invite you to watch the talents of our current Chenango Valley High School students shine in the CV Theatre Guild’s production of Disney’s High School Musical. This production will be available via a streaming platform at 7 p.m. on June 4. (There will also be a showing at 7 p.m. on June 5 and 2 p.m. on June 6.) There will be a fee of $10 per screening to view this virtual musical (+ Ticket Company Service Fee).
