Good afternoon,
 
I wanted to inform you of an incident that occurred during the 5th grade recess at Chenango Bridge Elementary, which is the last recess of the school day. We received a call from the Broome County Dispatch alerting us to the presence of a rabid animal in the neighborhood, in proximity to our playground area. Following their advice, and as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of our students, we brought the 5th grade students indoors for recess.
 
I want to emphasize that the animal did not enter the school property, and all students remained safe throughout the incident. We have been assured that the situation has been resolved.
 
Ensuring the safety and well-being of our students is our top priority, and we took immediate action to protect them.
