At Chenango Valley, our mission is to inspire, engage, and empower all students to achieve their full potential. This mission expands the ten-month school year. Therefore, with the help of the programs listed below, our district is proud to present FREE opportunities for our students to continue their educational growth year-round.

**Please note that all grades reflected refer to grade levels students will be enrolled in for the 2023-24 school year.**

BOCES Programs: Students can register through the Guidance Office.

Warrior Fundamentals: Students will be invited to Warrior FUNdamentals based on teacher recommendations and end-of-year data. Please reach out to your child's 
teacher with any questions.

(Students Entering Grades 1-6)
Dates: July 10 - 20, 2023 (Monday - Thursday) 
Times: 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. 
Location
Port Dickinson Elementary School

  • Our popular CV Elementary Summer STEAM camp is back! We hope to incorporate at least one speaker from the community for our session!
  • Students will reinforce and practice academic skills through hands-on, project-based learning.
  • Students will be grouped in first/second, third/fourth, and fifth/sixth grade classes. 
  • Students will meet Monday - Thursday for two weeks.

(Students Entering Grades 6-12)
Dates: July 10 - August 15, 2023 (Monday - Thursday)
 Session 1 Intense/Football (9-12): 6:30 - 8:15 a.m.
Session 2 (8-12): 8:30 - 10:00 a.m.
Session 3 (6-12): 10:15 - 11:30 a.m.
Location: Chenango Bridge Elementary School

  • Strength and conditioning academy for all CV students entering grades 6 through 12!
  • Integrated UHS Athletic Trainer & UHS Human Performance Trainer!
  • Students will focus on strength/conditioning/flexibility/agility training for ALL SPORTS!
  • Students will also participate in “Theme Weeks” to focus on specific topics in athletic training.

Dates: July 24 - August 3, 2023 (Monday - Thursday) 
Times: 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. 
Location:
 Port Dickinson Elementary School
 
  • Warrior FUNdamentals provides an opportunity for restorative learning.
  • Students will be invited to this session based on teacher recommendations and end-of-year data benchmarks. Families will receive an invitation letter with a direct link to register for this program.
  • Students will receive support in their targeted areas through the use of fun project-based learning and skill reinforcement.
  • Students will meet Monday - Thursday for two weeks.
  • If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s current classroom teacher.

Warrior Welcome
(Students Entering Kindergarten)
Dates: August 22 and 23, 2023 (Tuesday and Wednesday)
Times: 8:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Location: Port Dickinson Elementary School
 
  • Students will have the chance to get to know kindergarten at Port Dickinson Elementary better before attending school this fall.
  • Students will do activities in the classroom, go on a bus ride, eat a meal in the cafeteria, and visit areas such as the gym, library, and art room.
  • An email will also be sent to the families of incoming kindergarten students with an invite.

BOCES Programs
(Students Entering Grades 7-10)
Dates: July 17-27, 2023 (Monday - Thursday)
Times/Locations
8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. (at SUNY Broome)
8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (at BOCES)
Location: One week at BOCES Campus/one week at SUNY Broome
  • A two-week, hands-on program that engages students in project-based learning around STEAM through the design cycle. Local engineers and other professionals team up with students in small learning groups to explore and develop projects with real-world applications.
  •  Groups (entering grades 7 & 8 / 9 & 10) will switch between one week spent learning at the Broome-Tioga BOCES campus and the other at SUNY Broome.
  • Transportation will be provided from Chenango Bridge Elementary. Additional pick-up/drop-off information will be provided.
