CV High School ‘Decision Day’ Celebrates Class of 2022

As seniors begin the steps to prepare for their next life chapter, the Chenango Valley High School held a “Decision Day” celebration for the Class of 2022 on May 3.

Traditionally, applicants must commit to a college by May 1 (which fell on a Sunday this year). On May 3, CV held its own “Decision Day” celebration for those choosing to enter college, a trade school, a career, or the military. Students were encouraged to wear gear representing their chosen pathway. Staff members joined in the celebration by sporting this type of apparel as well.

In addition, a hallway near the high school library has been lined with senior photos. Next to their photos are hand-drawn portraits created back in kindergarten along with items representing their future plans. (As seen in the video above.)

While this event celebrated seniors, it was also a great way to engage other grade levels in conversations to begin thinking about future opportunities. Thanks to the help of the Chenango Valley Guidance Department, College and Career Week was celebrated throughout the CV Middle School/High School with various activities from May 2-6.
