CV French Exchange Goes to France

On April 13, the CV French Exchange students spent their last day in Castres attending classes. They assisted many students in English classes and answered questions about themselves and life in the US. They finished the day participating in yoga and volleyball. What a wonderful opportunity this has been. Thank you to all who made this trip possible!

On April 12, the CV French Exchange students went to the city of Toulouse. There, they visited the Saint Étienne cathedral, L’hôtel d’Assezat (which is from the Renaissance period), La place du capitole (where the Mayor’s office is located), Le couvent des Jacobins, and La basilique Saint Sernin. They also had some free time to explore the city with their French correspondents.

On April 11, the group visited the city of Albi. They had a guided tour at the Toulouse Lautrec museum and visited the 13th century cathedral of Sainte Cécile among other activities. Madame Henyan shared that is was a beautiful day of learning and experiencing new things. They even found time to enjoy the sunshine while eating a sorbet!

On April 7, the group visited an interactive wood and nature museum, crossed a suspension bridge between Mazamet and Hautpoul, and took a hike in Sidobre. At the end of the day, they celebrated the 30 year anniversary of the exchange program!

On April 5, the Chenango Valley French Exchange students attended classes and had fun taking part in a scavenger hunt in town!

The CV French Exchange trip began with a great start! Among recent activities, the group visited Paris, met with the Headmaster of Lycée Borde Basse, had a school tour, visited an elementary school, visited the Pierre Fabre Stadium to see the Castres olympique rugby team, and then played rugby with their French correspondents.

Bon voyage!” - On March 31, our CV French Exchange students officially made their way to France. We wish the group safe travels and an amazing trip! More photos and information to come!
