On March 31, seniors in Mrs. Preston’s Foundations of College Math classes explored what a career in engineering entails, thanks to a Future Fridays presentation with Kyle Deutsch, an Associate Chief Engineer at BAE Systems.
During his presentations, Mr. Deutsch spoke with students about what his role at BAE entails as well as the skills and education you need to be successful in the engineering field.
Future Fridays introduce students to local professionals from a variety of careers. Students are able to interview these professionals and ask them questions such as what requirements are necessary for their job and what math skills they use regularly. The goal is to expose these seniors to various career paths, discover what it would take to pursue each path, and help them start a network of connections for future employment.
