Over the course of ten weeks this fall, Kendall spent time each Saturday learning the Python computer programming language. Kendall shared that she not only learned to code, but truly enjoyed it, and made friends from other schools along the way. Lessons from the program led to a final project where Kendall and three other participants created endangered animal animations using Python.

Kendall shared that, in particular, a presentation given by an IBM representative through the program resonated with her, as it highlighted the importance of female coders and the potential for younger learners.

By participating in this program, Kendall discovered the exciting opportunities that await in coding. Kendall expressed that she’s interested in exploring these opportunities further by participating in another educational opportunity through the Girls Who Code program in the future.
