PD Students Learn About Dental Hygiene

This month at Port Dickinson Elementary, the safety theme focuses on hygiene, including taking care of our teeth. On November 15, a group of students from the Pre-Dental Association at Binghamton University visited to share their knowledge about dental health with the younger students.

The Pre-Dental Association representatives emphasized how important it is to develop good habits for oral hygiene early on, which can prevent dental problems in the future. They covered topics such as how to prevent tooth decay, different treatments for dental issues, and the correct way to brush and floss teeth. They made the session interactive, allowing the elementary students to share their knowledge by answering questions.

Tara Mirza, the Events Coordinator for the Binghamton University Pre-Dental Association, shared her enthusiasm. "We love teaching kids about dental health and helping those who may be afraid overcome their fear of the dentist. We aim to show them that dental care can be fun.”

The partnership between Chenango Valley and the Binghamton University Pre-Dental Association is greatly appreciated, as it plays a role in keeping students' smiles healthy and bright!
