The Chenango Valley Cross-Country Team held its third annual Cross-Country Race Against Cancer on Tuesday, October 24. This year's race was at the Owego High School's Last Chance Dash-in-the-Dark Meet. Teams from local high schools, including Binghamton, Chenango Forks, Chenango Valley, Horseheads, Maine Endwell, Owego, and Seton, collectively raised $2,149. The funds were donated to the Lourdes Cancer Unit. Runners raced a two-mile course in honor of loved ones affected by cancer. The night race featured participants wearing pink attire, using glowsticks, enjoying music, and having fun. The event included a modified race, varsity girls and boys races, and ended with 4x400m races on the track. In addition, there was a senior recognition ceremony for all the teams, as this marked most teams' last race before state qualifiers and the state meet.
