This summer, Mrs. Stocum, a first-grade teacher, participated in the 'Culture, Community, and the Classroom' professional development at BOCES. This program connected educators with local artists. They collaborated on a plan for the artists to visit classrooms in the fall.

Mrs. Stocum partnered with Kevin La Due, a guitar maker from Whitney Point. He visited her classroom on September 29, shared his guitars, and discussed his work, allowing students to ask questions. There was even some singing involved. It was a great experience for all!
