On April 1, the CV High School Travel and Culture Club, with the help of our Community Civics, sponsored its first Community Egg Hunt. Approximately 163 children and their families attended the event. The event included spring-themed activities such as games, an obstacle bounce course, concessions, face painting, a meet and greet with the bunny, and an egg hunt where over 2,000 eggs were found.

All of this fun was run by high school students and parent/caregiver volunteers. Every child who participated went home with a bag full of candy, prizes from games… and there were lots of smiles on their faces as well!

Thank you to our community for attending this event and a special thank you to the following community businesses for their contributions: Airborne Inflatables, Taylor Rental Events, Wilson Entertainment, Weis, Giuseppes, Regal Cinema, Rumble Ponies, Binghamton Black Bears, Brenn + Co, Cinema Saver, Caracciolo’s, Rockin Robin, El Pulpo, Subway Upper Front St, and our multiple parents/caregivers who donated both resources and time. Also, a huge thank you to the Briggs Family who graciously donated all of the candy used for the egg hunt handout.

The CV High School Travel and Culture Club looks forward to providing more fun events for the community!

The Chenango Valley High School Travel and Culture Club serves as a general interest group for students wishing to expand their knowledge and understanding of what is offered beyond our physical location and self. The club’s activities focus in two areas. One is an international trip every other year to be offered to all students who are enrolled in advanced art, language, music, and/or in this club. The second focus area is providing cultural experiences locally and regionally throughout the academic year. The Travel and Culture Club is open to all students at the high school who enter with an open mind and an agreement to both grow and understand the world around them.

Fundraising helps support the students’ efforts to fund their European trip to Italy and Spain in the spring of 2024. They are working on group and individual fundraisers.
