Madame Henyan's French students explored the cultural traditions of Mardi Gras on February 13. As part of the activities, students learned about the meanings behind the traditional colors of green (faith), purple (justice), and gold (power). The class also enjoyed sampling king (cup)cakes, a beloved Mardi Gras treat. In keeping with tradition, a few students found hidden figurines within their treats, a discovery believed to bring good luck for the year. The students appreciated the effort Madame Henyan put into teaching about this rich history and the cultural traditions.
