CV High School Seniors Participate in New Visions Business Academy 'InnoVision'

On January 10, students from the Broome-Tioga BOCES New Visions Business Academy, including Chenango Valley seniors Jess Matson and Olivia Blaise, presented their company, InnoVision, to the public at the Koffman Southern Tier Incubator in Binghamton. This company, formed by 14 high school students, was a part of their academy curriculum designed to teach them how to create a company from scratch.

After conducting a survey to understand public interest, InnoVision decided to promote and sell a mental health tote bag and a set of three charcoal pouches, highlighting a focus on mental health and sustainability. They ended up raising enough to donate $4,000 to the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier.

As part of the project, all students played important roles. Olivia contributed through the supply chain, ensuring the products were well-managed, while Jess engaged in the marketing efforts, including designing the logo. Both students valued the hands-on experience, with Olivia considering a future in business, leaning towards human resources or marketing, and Jess aiming to study business administration/marketing after high school.

Below is a picture from Broome-Tioga BOCES of Olivia, Jess, their peers, Julie Keenan (teacher), and their mentors, marking a moment of accomplishment and shared effort.
