CV Boys Swim State Meet Accomplishments




The Chenango Valley boys varsity swimming team delivered a remarkable performance at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) championships in Ithaca, resulting in a series of significant achievements! All six CV participants qualified for the finals. 

The medley relay, with Tyler, Amir, Fin, and Gabe, secured an 11th seed initially and then surpassed expectations, finishing ninth in the finals, clocking in at 1:37.38.

Tyler clinched fourth place in both the 200 Individual Medley (IM) and the 100 breaststroke. His performance in the 200 IM not only earned him a commendable place but also set a new Section IV record with a time of 1:51.64. Amir demonstrated his speed and agility by advancing from the 11th to the ninth spot in the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.34 and improving his standing in the 100 backstroke to sixth place, finishing with a time of 51.77.

The team's efforts in relay events were also notable, with the 200 free relay team advancing to the C Final and the 400 freestyle relay team, consisting of Tyler, Gabe, Fin, and Amir, finishing 13th with a collective time of 3:15.57. Amir anchored the relay with a time of 46.09, while Tyler led off with a time of 46.66.

These achievements contributed to the team's impressive eighth-place finish in the state and a remarkable second place in the small school category, a testament to their hard work, dedication, and teamwork. Amazing job to all!
