Letter from Principal Stephenson
July 1, 2020

Dear Chenango Bridge Students and Families,

It is with great excitement and pride that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Principal of Chenango Bridge Elementary School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a stellar reputation, from amazing students and dedicated staff, to a highly supportive school community.  I feel very fortunate to be a part of this school and to provide my support and leadership to the students and families of Chenango Bridge.

I have been dedicated to the field of education for over 23 years. I have taught both 5th and 6th grade in the Union-Endicott School District.  For the past 13 years I have been the Intermediate Literacy Coach for all four of the elementary buildings, working with building leaders and teachers to coach and support all reading and writing practices. I am thrilled to bring my skills as an educational leader to Chenango Bridge Elementary School and to work with you in ensuring your child’s success through a high-quality education in a supportive learning environment.

On a personal note, I have lived my entire life in the Broome County area. My daughter graduated in June from the Owego-Apalachin School District and will be attending SUNY Oneonta in the fall, which will be a big change for us. We will both be transitioning to new environments and I love what the Chenango Valley community has to offer and am so proud to be a part of the Warrior community!

Along with the teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the tradition of academic excellence and pride in community that has been established at Chenango Bridge Elementary. It is my belief that students are able to succeed when they feel supported and encouraged to strive for excellence by adults who believe in their full potential.  It is my goal to ensure that the students of Chenango Bridge Elementary school are supported by a staff that are caring and have high standards for student achievement both in and outside of the classroom.

I am thrilled about this school year and I look forward to working with you to ensure that the students of Chenango Bridge Elementary have a school year filled with quality instruction, personal achievement and of course, fun. Please remember that my door is always open to you.  I sincerely welcome your input during this school year and look forward to productive conversations. I can be reached at [email protected] or at school at (607) 762-6950.  I look forward to getting to know you and spending time learning about Chenango Bridge from those who know it best.

Sincerely,
Suzanne Stephenson
