In addition to Chenango Valley Central School District’s implementation of the “Positivity Project” ("P2") that empowers students to build positive relationships, the district is excited to participate in the international “Great Kindness Challenge” from January 27 – 31. This challenge also goes hand in hand with this week's P2 focus on "Supporting others when they struggle."

The goal of "The Great Kindness Challenge" is to continue promoting a positive and caring learning environment. The free program includes a checklist of random acts of kindness for students and educators to complete, in hopes that they will see the impact that even a small act of kindness can make. The district has also challenged local organizations, families and community members to participate through our social media accounts.

Acts of Kindness Checklists

The challenge was introduced to Port Dickinson Elementary Warriors during a morning assembly on January 27. A Kindness Station has also been set up for first and second grade students to create items such as thank you cards, posters, and bookmarks (all with a theme of kindness) during their recess throughout the school week.

Chenango Bridge Elementary is adding some fun into "The Great Kindness Challenge" with a special Spirit Week!

Chenango Valley Middle School introduced the challenge during a "Positivity Project" assembly. Middle school students will receive a bookmark with 12 kind acts to complete. They will also have the chance to find hearts with kind acts written on them hidden throughout the school. Once they complete the act and bring the heart back to the guidance office, they can receive a treat.

Chenango Valley High School has hung large posters of the acts of kindness checklists throughout the school for students to review and complete tasks. In addition, students will be able to take part in a fun activity station involving the acts of kindness later this school week.

We'll share more on "The Great Kindness Challenge" as the week continues!
