Port Dickinson Explores 'Positivity Project' Trait of ‘Forgiveness’
Port Dickinson Elementary students reviewed this week’s “Positivity Project” (P2) trait of “Forgiveness” with a morning assembly presentation on February 3.

According to the "Positivity Project" definition, forgiveness means that “You forgive those who have done wrong. You accept that people make mistakes.”

Mrs. Hoyt led the morning presentation. At the start of the assembly, Mr. Novotny was supposed to help her play a video, but he “arrived late due to unforeseen circumstances” and they were not able to play it. Mrs. Hoyt discussed the emotions that she went through and how she ultimately decided that it was best to forgive her friend Mr. Novotny for this incident.

At the end of the assembly, students were encouraged to continue thinking about how they could use forgiveness and consider the other person’s perspective in different situations.
