Students Explore Employment Opportunities at 'Construction and Technology Career Day'
Chenango Valley High School students had the chance to learn firsthand about exciting career prospects in the fields of construction and technology.

Among approximately 600 students from around the region who participated in this year’s “Con-Tech Construction and Technology Career Day” at the Broome County Highway Department on October 2, Chenango Valley students put on their hard hats and prepared for an insightful day.

Whether learning directly from skilled professionals and trades displays, watching heavy equipment demonstrations or directly operating equipment under supervision; the event helped to inspire students to continue pursuing their current interests and exposed them to a variety of additional opportunities to further explore.

Thank you to those who helped to make this event possible for students including Broome-Tioga BOCES, the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), the Broome County Highway Department, Broome-Tioga Workforce New York, the Construction & Technology Career Day Committee, and several local companies and trade unions involved in the construction industry.
