What are the keys to effective classroom management? This was the topic of discussion at the first Warrior Learners workshops of the 2019-2020 school year. The September 16 program was led by Chenango Valley Assistant Superintendent Michelle Feyerabend.
The objective of Warrior Learners is to help provide various support and mentorship resources for Chenango Valley Central School District teachers -- especially those who are newer to the district.
In sessions with primary and secondary educators, Mrs. Feyerabend reviewed and shared tips for establishing classroom management.
Warrior Learner participants identified changes/new environments they have recently experienced and what they've learned from these situations. Participants also worked in groups to review ways they have recently worked on classroom management through the four "r's" of routines, responsibilities, relationships and rules.
At the end of the sessions, participants reflected on questions regarding classroom management.
Additional Warrior Learners workshops covering various informative subjects will continue throughout the school year.
