Members of the Chenango Valley High School Interact Club recently helped to build a ramp to assist a local resident.
In early September, members of the Interact Club and Hillcrest Rotary Club teamed up with Broome County Council of Churches’ Faith in Action program for a “Ramp It Up” project at a Binghamton home.
Preparation and construction for the project began on September 7. On September 8, the “Ramp It Up” crew finished the ramp that will help to provide easier access to the resident’s home. Through teamwork and compassion, the group also built community connections.
This was the Interact Club’s first project of the school year. With more than 150 students expressing interest in being part of the club this year, the group plans to keep providing ample services to the community. Members look forward to continuing to volunteer at dinners at the United Presbyterian Church of Binghamton, help local organizations and community members, and provide services at district events such as Community Night.
