Chenango Valley High School introduced the new district-wide character strength education program The Positivity Project (or “P2”) to its students on September 4.
During a morning assembly, Chenango Valley High School P2 Student Leaders helped to explain what the program is, the goal of the program and what it will look like throughout the school year. The program incorporates 24 character strengths, and student leaders will help to introduce each of these traits to their peers on a weekly basis. Students will discover ways to recognize these strengths in themselves and others to help build stronger relationships with their school community. Students will also take a survey to discover their most prominent character strengths.
“I think it’s important because it’s working on empowerment for everyone and it’s going to help build relationships with everybody from each grade,” said P2 student leader Elizabeth Morgan. “I hope it will really help us to understand people from their point-of-view and where they come from.”
Chenango Valley is looking forward to beginning this program in each of our school buildings and helping to inspire, engage and empower our students with its positive message.
As a reminder, you may see the hashtag #CVP2 in various publications throughout our district to help highlight this program.
