During the presentation, students reviewed what kindness means and took part in a guessing game with the letters in the word “kindness.” They also played a “Skittles Kindness Game” with the help of Mrs. Mercik. Students/educators had to answer the following questions based on the Skittles color they picked:

Red Skittles:  “How do you feel when you are kind to other people?”
Orange Skittles: “What does kindness look like or sound like?”
Yellow Skittles: “How could you show kindness to someone you do not know?”
Green Skittles: “When was someone kind to you? How did it make you feel?”
Purple Skittles: “Has someone ever been unkind to you? How did it make you feel?”

The P2 assembly ended with a special song from students in second grade who had Mrs. DeBellis as a teacher last year. They surprised her and their peers by presenting “Kindness is a Muscle” that they sang in last year’s first grade program. It was a kind gesture and everyone was proud of the students!
