Five athletes from the Chenango Valley varsity girls swim team were recognized for their participation in the 2018 NYSPHSAA (New York State Public High School Athletic Association) Girls Swimming & Diving Championships during the November 28 CV Board of Education meeting.
Chenango Valley High School students Paige Lettera, Lindsey Rice, Taylor Potenziano, Kendra Potenziano and Harpursville student Victoria (Tori) Whidden represented CV girls swim in the State Meet at Ithaca College on November 16 and 17.
Paige, Lindsey, Taylor and Tori placed 18th in the state in the 200 medley relay, and set a new school record in the event. Lindsey also placed 20th in the state in the 100 breaststroke.
This fall season, the CV varsity girls swim team won its 16th consecutive East Division title. The team was also this year's Section IV Class B Champions and ranked fourth in the state in Class B.
