February 2019 BOE Meeting Recognitions
The February 27 Chenango Valley Board of Education meeting included some notable academic and athletic recognitions.
 
Chenango Valley High School seniors William Blewett, Morgan Jones and Joshua VanBarriger were recognized for their achievements in the 2019 SkillsUSA Regional Conference at SUNY Morrisville. They will compete in the SkillsUSA state-level competition in April.

Chenango Valley High School students who participated in the 2019 Regional Science Olympiad Tournament at Maine-Endwell Middle School were also recognized.

(As you can see, some of these students are also taking part in the CV High School Theatre Guild's upcoming musical production of "The Addams Family" and were able to stop by the meeting in between rehearsals!) 
 
In addition, members of the Chenango Valley High School STEAM Club who recently participated in the Express VEX Robotics Competition at Elmira High School were recognized. Sophomore Miranda Rogers even demonstrated a student-made robotic prop that will be used in the upcoming high school musical!

Winter 2018-2019 student athletes who were State qualifying participants were recognized, including:
 
The Chenango Valley varsity cheer team was recognized for participation in the 2019 UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship in February, where they made it all the way to the semi-finals round and placed 16th in their division. The Section IV Champions were also recognized for qualifying to participate in the 2019 New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Cheerleading Championships on March 2.

Chenango Valley High School wrestlers Brady Hope and Nathan Lehr were recognized for their participation in the 2019 NYSPHSAA Wrestling Championships this February.

Indoor track and field athletes Michael Godbay and Mallorie Turner were also recognized for qualifying to participate in the 2019 NYSPHSAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on March 2. Michael qualified in the long jump and 55m, and Mallorie qualified in the triple jump.
