Chenango Valley Takes Part in 2019 Canstruction Event
Chenango Valley students are helping to "take a bite out of hunger in the Big Apple”! On March 17, the Chenango Valley Canstruction team worked hard to create a structure for the 2019 Canstruction of the Southern Tier event. The team used canned food and other non-perishable food items to assemble a replica of the Empire State Building in the Oakdale Mall.

Canstruction is an international hunger-relief competition. The event helps to raise awareness and benefit the Food Bank of the Southern Tier and CHOW. After the cans of food are disassembled, they will be used to aid hunger-relief efforts throughout Broome County.

The Chenango Valley Canstruction team won “People’s Choice” for small structures this year and also received a special award for “Best Adherence to the Rules.” Way to go, Warriors!

Chenango Valley's creation, and the designs of other Canstruction teams from around the area, will be on display at the Oakdale Mall until Sunday, March 24.
