On May 6, the family of “Super Cooper” Busch visited Port Dickinson Elementary to take part in one of Cooper’s favorite activities, spreading smiles. To commemorate one year since the passing of Cooper, who bravely battled leukemia, his family shared baskets filled with some of his favorite items with students from Port Dickinson and other area kindergarten classes. These baskets included items such as bubble machines and popcorn. They also included a $20 gift card for each kindergarten class to pay the kindness forward and spread smiles to another class of their choice. Thank you to the Busch family for these thoughtful gifts and all of the smiles!

One example of paying the kindness forward was when Mrs. Hess’s class decided to use the gift card to present Miss Lawrence’s class with a gift of chalk, Play Doh and bubbles. Miss Lawrence’s class said they would like to pass on the kindness in their own way.
