On April 6, 13 Chenango Valley elementary through high school students were among more than 150 players from across the globe who took part in a RoboRAVE International Robotics Education and Competition event. Held in Oxford, the competition included 62 teams representing four different countries.

The Chenango Valley elementary teams finished first and eighth in the a-MAZE-ing challenge. Students were tasked with creating a robot capable of going through an elevated maze in two minutes or less.

The Chenango Valley High School team finished third in SumoBot, in which team members needed to create a robot that could push one or more of its opponent “sumo robots” out of an elevated ring. The Chenango Valley Middle School team finished fifth in SumoBot.

The goal of this fun competition was to engage students in robotics programming and design, while also inspiring them to build upon their teamwork skills. RoboRAVE's motto is "Today's Play, Tomorrow's Pay."

Chenango Valley is grateful our students had the opportunity to participate in this exciting educational event!
